Nichols Landscaping was born out of a passion for horticulture, which is the art and science of cultivating and managing lawns and gardens.
Russell Nichols, the owner of Nichols Landscaping, got his first taste of lawn care at the tender age of sixteen. He started a small scale lawn mowing business in Woodway, Texas that quickly grew to 3 employees and 25 lawns. As his business grew, he learned vital skills such as customer service, business management and landscaping.
He carried this passion into his college career, where he received a Bachelor’s of Horticulture with an emphasis in Turf grass Management at Texas Tech University. From there, he went on to work at prestigious golf clubs around the nation, such as Atlanta Athletic Club, where he grew more knowledgeable about turf management, landscape design, and how to manage a tight-knit maintenance crew.
